2025 Roundup - A Year of Creativity, Craft & Connection

2025 Roundup - A Year of Creativity, Craft & Connection

What a year 2025 has been. From inspiring collaborations with museums and heritage partners to breathing new life into historical stories, it’s been a year filled with creativity and connection. At the heart of everything we do is the belief that jewellery should carry meaning as well as beauty — each piece thoughtfully crafted to tell a story. In this year-end roundup, we’re celebrating the projects that shaped our year and sharing a glimpse of what’s ahead.

Highlights at a Glance

  • Heritage and museum collaborations that brought history to life

  • Bespoke collections rooted in storytelling and craftsmanship

  • New commercial ranges designed to support retail partners

  • Retail innovations and store refurbishments

  • A strong, exciting roadmap for 2026

Craftsmanship in Collaboration

National Galleries Scotland

One of our most exciting creative milestones this year was our collaboration with the National Galleries of Scotland. We were honoured to design an exclusive jewellery collection inspired by Phoebe Anna Traquair’s masterpiece The Progress of a Soul (1895–1902).

Our brief was to translate Traquair’s radiant colour palette and expressive artistry into a vibrant, commercially compelling collection — celebrating her visionary work while showcasing the craftsmanship synonymous with Bill Skinner.

Each piece was meticulously crafted in brass with a luxurious gold-plated finish and elevated with bold, hand-applied enamelling. To complete the storytelling, we also designed bespoke premium packaging, presenting every piece as a miniature work of art.

Design Innovation & Storytelling

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

Inspired by the success of our much-loved Blackberry Mouse, we were delighted to create a bespoke jewellery range for The Lost Gardens of Heligan, inspired by their enchanting dormouse.

Heligan’s story — reawakened in 1990 as one of Europe’s most ambitious garden restoration projects — carries a powerful message: that what is lost can be found. We sought to capture this spirit through a beautifully designed, highly commercial collection that celebrated both the magic of the gardens and the storytelling at the heart of our brand.

Supporting Our Retail Partners

While nature continues to inspire much of our work, we also love celebrating the wider world of art, literature and mythology.

The Wallace Collection

In the latter part of the year, we collaborated with The Wallace Collection on a special edit inspired by Caravaggio’s Cupid, on distinguished loan from the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin. Influenced by the painting’s extraordinary mastery and The Wallace’s exuberant Rococo aesthetic, we designed an enchanting cherub collection blending classical beauty with signature Bill Skinner charm.

To support our retail partner, our in-house team produced bespoke imagery designed to elevate the collection’s online presence and bring its craftsmanship and playful spirit to life.

Introducing Little Treasures

This year saw the launch of Little Treasures — a high-volume gifting range of accessible, easy pick-up jewellery with an RRP of £18–£35. Designed to complement our Bejewelled and Enchanted ranges, the collection meets a clear demand for pre-packaged, commercially appealing jewellery.

To support sell-through, we introduced a dedicated retail solution: a sleek, freestanding tabletop spinner designed to maximise visibility while conserving valuable retail space. This has quickly become one of our strongest commercial successes of the year across wholesale and retail channels.

Store Refurbishments

We also refreshed several of our stores, including our flagship Otford location, which now features a new packing area and updated décor. Beautifully styled by Mandy, the space is perfectly prepared to welcome customers throughout the festive season and beyond.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into 2026, we’re excited to begin a new chapter with our wholesale partners. Several long-awaited projects — many months in the making — will launch in early spring, and we’re confident in the strong commercial impact they will deliver.

We’ll also be unveiling our SS26 collections at key trade shows, including Top Drawer, Spring Fair, and ACE. We look forward to welcoming you to our stand, reconnecting with familiar faces, and hearing about the exciting plans within your museums and galleries.

Aligned with 2026 jewellery trends, upcoming launches will feature:

  • Bold statement florals

  • Layered keepsakes and charm stories

  • Signature handcrafted, artisanal detailing

A Final Note from Bill

As the year draws to a close, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our wholesale partners for your continued support. It has meant so much to us, and we look forward to building on our partnerships in 2026.

Throughout my 40 years in jewellery making, I’ve had the privilege of designing for some of the world’s most prestigious institutions — each piece created as a meaningful token that captures the spirit of your organisation. It remains an honour to craft these memories, and I hope to continue doing so for many years to come.
