While Disney may have Mickey, we have our very own star at Bill Skinner Studio —The Blackberry Mouse. This charming little character has quickly become the heart of our most beloved jewellery collection, embodying the essence of our craftsmanship and creativity.

As blackberry season arrives, it feels only fitting to introduce you to the story of how this delightful creature came to be, marking the debut of our 'In The Studio' series.

The Story as told by Sara, Bill Skinner Designer

It all began with a simple tea break in the studio. Bill was reminiscing about his past apprentices and one particular model he cherished—a playful mouse, hanging as if caught in the act of stealing blackberries. Inspired by this memory, I decided to bring the mouse back to life, nestling him cheekily among a cluster of blackberries.

Originally, the mouse was just a small part of the collection, but Bill's brilliant modeling brought the character to the forefront. With Claire’s dedicated work alongside the enamellers, the Blackberry Mouse evolved into something truly special. He stole the show, and soon enough, he became the charming little rascal you know and love today.
